Repression: Police in proactive operation hand-cuffing activists on false grounds

On the eve of the COP15 the police also showed how they are unpredictable thus acting in a provocative way. CJA have had a dialogue with the police about both the actions and sleeping quarters including a warehouse at Teglholm close to the harbour.

Early December 4 the police invaded the warehouse at Teglholm with sleeping activists and hand-cuffed 15-20 persons for almost an hour. The claim was that there was no contract for renting the building but this was false. CJA spokespersons says that this incidence puts some doubts on the dialogue with the police wondering if the police action was to provoke or lack of internal information.

The police spokesperson Flemming Steen Munch claims that police acted lacking correct reasons and made an excuse. One could add that there were no reasons whatsoever for the kind of action that was made even if there were no contract for the premises. The police operation was under all circumstances provocative.
